Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

10. True Magazine

True Magazine was partial to adventure subjects. What could be more of an adventure than traveling to another planet whether it is man going into outer space or an alien coming to earth?

This mis-adventure was published by True in the late 60s.

Don,

I remember this one (as well as the one in the CSM.) It's like 45 years were just peeled away.

I contributed to True's "This Funny Life" page in the 60's -- the all-time highest paying joke market. For a while, they paid $100 a joke at a time when you could buy a new mid-size car for $1800. Then they dropped it to $50. I sold them $600 worth between 1966 and 1973.

smiles,
rb
