Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

17. Boy's Life

This cartoon printed in Boy's Life (early 1950s) is the second cartoon Don sold. If you remember the first one, it was about an illegally parked camel (see Liberty Magazine below). So was Don embarking on a career of camel cartoons? No, we can't come up with a third one, though there may be one out there somewhere. Don did ride a camel on a trip to Egypt in 1978. The camel wasn't too happy as wife Suzy colluded with the guide to get him on one, and the camel was standing when the guide swung Don up. Unlike horses, camels prefer to sit when being mounted.
