Wouldn't it be great for cartoonists today if all big companies published a magazine and used cartoons -- paying a decent fee, of course? This cartoon of Don's appeard in Chevron U.S.A. a mere 36 years ago (Winter, 1973 issue). Remember it, and wonder, when you visit Williamsburg, Virginia, Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Long Island, NY, or any other colonial village recreation, if the gag could be true.
Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)
