Here's another cover Don did for Crestwood Publishing, also 1969. This magazine measures 5-5/8 x 6-1/4 inches as do Crestwood's other joke mags:
Army Laughs,
Army Fun and
Broadway Laughs. Cartoons were printed full page and shared their pages with jokes, true oddities, an occasional short-short story, and a few ads, mostly for other magazines.
Back to
Army Laughs: In the right column is a feature for which Don did the artwork. The title "Al Fong Spong say. . ." is obviously a take-off on Confucius, the Chinese thinker and social philosopher. Like Confucius Al Spong was a real person; he wrote the gag lines.
