Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

66. Inside Detective, 1969

The proliferation of detective magazines with titles using "Detective" preceeded by a different adjective is an amusing phenomenon. Imagine if, in addition to the Saturday Evening Post, we had Monday Morning Post, Tuesday Afternoon Post, etc. You get the idea!
The magazine that printed this Orehek gag was from Dell Publishing. (See Dell 1000 Jokes, entry #5.)
This cartoon reminds Suzy Orehek of a ride home from college in the early 1960s. The driver was pulled over in a small town in southern Virginia and issued a speeding ticket. We had to go to "court" before we could leave town!
