Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

82. Visual Arts Journal, Summer 1998

As mentioned in Don's About Me in the right column, he attended the School of Visual Arts. In an introductory letter in the summer 1998 Visual Arts Journal, the Officer for Alumni Affairs wrote:

". . . The Office of Alumni Affairs had selected cartooning as the subject of its Summer '98 Visual Arts Journal for two reasons. One, cartooning was the first of two programs offered at SVA when it opened 50 years ago in 1947 as the Cartoonists and Illustrators School. And two, cartooning, in a variety of formats including the graphic novel, children's books angd television animation, has experienced a significant resurgence over the past few years. With this in mind, we though it would be interesting to learn how our alumni in the field are doing these days."

Here is part of a page in the Journal that included one of Don's cartoons, reprinted from the King Features Syndicate LAFF-A-DAY.
