After the world's fair known as the Montreal Expo '67 closed, the Pavilion of Humour continued to have international exhibitions of cartoons annually and published a book of the cartoons on display. Don submitted his work for several years winning two awards. This cartoon is from the 1972 book. It was originally sold to Saturday Review. That's the faint credit in the upper righthand corner.
A forward in the book by the Mayor of Montreal says:
Very few of my colleagues, if any, have taken the habit of presenting each year such a prestigious catologue of cartoons. . . I wish to take this opportunity, on the eve of this celebration, to pay tribute to the thousands of cartoonists of nearly all countreis who, by participating in this Salon have recognized the importance of the Montreal International Salon of Cartoons. . . The quality of the works reproduced here confirms the need for a world center of cartoons and Montreal is particularly honoured to be the chosen City.
