Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

92. Albert & Son, Inc.

Albert & Son, Inc. provided a different type of publication for Don--not a newspaper, magazine or book--but candy boxes. Don did the graphics for several display boxes for Albert's candies. Product names included:

SO LONG CANDY ROLLS
CANDY BUBBLE GUM POP
CRAZY BALL CANDY POP (as seen on TV)
STRAWBERRY FLAVORED CANDY
SHERBET SUNDAE SPOON UP CANDY
SLIDE SUCKERS (musical candy pops)
LOTSA FIZZ (fizzy fun candy)

In some cases the box designs had intricate folds that converted a rectangular carton into a point-of-purchase display. Note the two characters on the STRAWBERRY BUBBLE lid. There is a cut out over and around the two kids which becomes a stand up display.

Besides getting paid for his artwork Don received a generous supply of samples . . . enough for Trick or Treaters on more than one Halloween.
