Ele & Ela was published by Bloch Editores, S.A. It was a Brazilian magazine with a Fifth Avenue, New York, office. Don sold them a few cartoons in the early 80s. This one (redrawn here) was purchased in February 1982. The market was made know to magazine gag cartoonists who were members of the Cartoonists Guild. The Guild was made possible by the devotion and hard work of Marv Tannenberg, a gag cartoonist himself. He did much to promote fair treatment of the free-lance Guild members, and was the catalyst in getting many publications to buy cartoons.
Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)
