Woman's Day, a down-to-earth magazine for women dealing with everyday issues, is still being published though it has changed ownership more than once over the years. This cartoon, purchased in October 1986, is reproduced here from a "Xerox" of Don's original drawing. Each okay from Woman's Day brought an individually typed letter to the cartoonist. This was a more personal touch than most magazines used.
The letter said: We'd like to buy the cartoon that's attached to this letter (New Walkman). So please send us your bill for $250, with your assurance that the cartoon has not been published before, and your Social Security number. We'll put payment through for you immediately.
Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)
