Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

148. Argosy

No one could look at this cartoon and think it was drawn recently. Not just because of the car including the lack of seat belts, but what woman today would be caught wearing that hat! This gag, printed by Argosy magazine in January 1961 does show what Don's early style was like.
According to wikipedia (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argosy_(magazine) Argosy "is generally considered to be the first American pulp magazine . . . The first issue was . . . dated December 9, 1882 . . . The final issue of the original magazine was published in November 1978."
