Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

180. Tux Magazine

Here's an example of the variety of gags a cartoonist can get out of the same basic situation. (Also see postings # 112, 121, 126.)
We ended up with two cartoons here (both redrawn) as our gag slip has the "nursing home" version and our log book records the "condo" version for the same gag number. We can guess that Don changed the emphasis of the gag to make it appropriate for Tux. He says that's the one he the sold its editor in 1984. Makes sense, too, as Tux was published by the people who put out Cinema Blue (posting # 159), Hudson Communications, Inc., New York. We found both Hudson and Tux separately on Google, but they do not appear to have any relation to the businesses mentioned here.
