Don has sold a LOT of cartoons in his career. Each numbered cartoon or illustration on the left side of this Blog is from a DIFFERENT magazine, newspaper, etc. Let's see if we can find out the total number of publications (places) where Don's work has appeared . . . . . (An unnumbered posting is a duplicate publication.)

101. Creative Arts Workshop of Port Washington

Don taught cartooning to kids and once to adults in several locations near home. Two qualify as "publications" as Don drew the covers for the brochures. The one shown here is from the first and we think original program which offered a variety of classes on Saturday morning to elementary school children. Don's one-hour cartooning class was for grades 4-6. The Creative Arts Workshop of Port Washington was a "cooperative, non-profit organization administered by interested parents on a purely voluntary basis." It ran for several years and ceased to be when no "interested parents" came forward to volunteer.

Be sure to notice the face under "cartooning."

Don, I took your creative arts workshop of PW for a few years. I never turned out to be a professional cartoonist! I want my money back. ;-)

Just kidding. You were great. The classes were great. It was fun for a cartoonist-in-training (like me) to be able to draw every week with a master.

Oh, and thanks for putting me into the Cracked magazine (with barney miller on cover) "Dave XXXXX slept here.", from a story I told you about falling alseep in class.
